ATCs (Artist Trading Cards) and APCs (Altered Playing Cards or Altered Post Cards) are tiny works of art swapped around between friends and across online clubs devoted to ATCs and AB's (Altered Books). Similar in expression to Altered Books - the concept was originated by M.Vänçi Stirnemann of Switzerland in 1996 and is now extremely popular and widely shared by Altered Artists worldwide

Like Altered Books, as far as artistic expression goes, there are no rules to ATCs and APCs, however with ATCs they must be exactly sized at 2 ½" x 3 ½", always be given, swapped or shared with other like-minded artists, never sold. They may be all orginal, painted or printed, fabric or paper, flat or with fibres and 3D elements - the only rule is the size and spirit of trading
